CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:
 
Intro to Bladesmithing: In this class, students will forge, heat treat, and grind a small, self-handled utility knife that is perfect for myriad tasks. The forged handles will be wrapped with paracord for a comfortable and durable grip. This is a great class for those just getting into the craft, or those looking for a fairly short class with a focus on utility. Space for 6 students.
 
Intro to Bladesmithing/Hamon Knives: In this class students will first forge small “self-handled” utility knives and then finish them during the remainder of the class. Heat treating will be done with clay coatings to create a hamon on the blade, most commonly known from the Japanese katana. The knives will be ground and polished to bring out the hamon, then the handles will be cord-wrapped to make fully functional tools. Leather sheaths may also be made if time permits. Space for 6 students.
 
Wood-Handled Paring Knives: This class is perfect for culinary and knifemaking enthusiasts looking to add a little custom cutlery to their kitchen. Over the course of the class you will forge out, heat-treat, and finish a small wood-handled paring knife in high-carbon steel. Space for 6 students.
 
Damascus Seaxes: In this class that is becoming a classic for Jamie, students will be provided a damascus blank, which they will forge out into a traditional seax blade. After heat treating and grinding these blades will be fitted in wood or antler handles. Polishing and etching will bring out the damascus patterns in these awesome, historic utility knives. Space for 6 students.
 
Date Night with Forged Hooks: In this class, the couples will work together to forge, texture, and assemble a set of decorative steel wall-hooks for your home! Space for 3 couples.
 
Couples Intro to Bladesmithing: In this class couples will forge, heat treat, and grind a pair of small, self-handled utility knife that is perfect for myriad tasks. The forged handles will be wrapped with paracord for a comfortable and durable grip. This is a great class for those just getting into the craft, or those looking for a fairly short class with a focus on utility. Space for 3 couples.
 
Chef’s Knives: Students will forge out and finish a high-carbon steel chef’s knife. After heat treating and grinding these blades will be fitted in wood handles. The best deal for the chef looking to create their own custom high-performance knife at a bargain price. Space for 6 students.
 
Damascus Fighting Knives: In this class students will be provided a topographic pattern damascus blank, which they will forge out into a curved fighting blade. After heat treating and grinding these blades will be fitted in wood or antler handles. Polishing and etching will bring out the damascus patterns in these deadly knives. Space for 6 students.
 
Rustic Choppers: Forge out and finish a self-handled, utilitarian all-purpose chopper/survival blade. Perfect for outdoorsman and aspiring bladesmiths alike! Space for 6 students.
 
Damascus Puukko Knives: In this class students will be provided a twisted damascus with a high layer edge bar blank, which they will forge out into a curved fighting blade. After heat treating and grinding, these blades will be fitted in wood handles. Polishing and etching will bring out the damascus patterns in these deadly knives. Space for 6 students.
 
Handled Hunting Knives: Students will forge out a stout, high-carbon blade that will perform a variety of hunting and survial tasks. After heat treating and grinding, these blades will be fitted in wood or antler handles. Space for 6 students.
